Day 132 – MAINE!

Dealing with the famous “hardest mile” of the Appalachian Trail.

Maine is so beautiful!!! And very hard. It took 9 hours to go 9.5 miles today haha. But super pretty and worth it. I was kept up most of the night by a pretty severe snorer who left at 4 am. But I got up at 6 and got ready because it was going to be a long day. I was going through a section called the Mahoosuc Notch, which is very correctly called the hardest mile on the Appalachian Trail. It takes people between 1 hour and 15 minutes up to 5 hours to walk 1.2 miles. Insane terrain!

I left at 7:45 and I caught up to Uffda, a 33 year old thru hiker with a completely gray beard. He’s been asked a bunch if he’s retired haha. I hiked with him pretty…
